seriously this game is amazing, it is absolutely in my top 10 games, possibly even top 5 this shit rocks so much, go play the demo for the message from deep space to see if it is your type of game because it is extremely spoilable

in the past almost WEEK at this point i have played nothing but warframe with my girlfriend and the message from deep space, this game has got its claws in me DEEP
at the rate its currently going it may slide into the ever-nebulous and constantly changing spot of "no.1 favorite video game of all time" and stick there for a good while
at the end of each ingame week you get a log/diary entry from each named character and get to make one yourself, and at the start i was just shitposting but it has grown steadily more earnest as time has gone on and now they basically arent shitposts at all and are closer to actually being the thoughts of a character working on decoding the signals and OUGHAUHG
I had been really really stuck on a translation for a couple of days and I just couldn't work it out, and since I'm going to be away from my computer for a couple of days I physically wrote down the input transmission onto a piece of paper so I could work on it while I was away. and as soon as I was finished and about to start writing a section to catalogue incorrect guesses I tried a random one word answer and it was correct LMAOOOO
I basically haven't ever done that before, I've listed down like reference information for a game like fez, noting codes and unsolved mysteries, but just putting an entire puzzle to paper to try and work it out offline is new
some spoilers and my prediction for the endingthe aliens have already sent several transmissions along the lines of "us at meteor 0 make do gap gap us source meteor 0 shift you destination gap gap you at meteor 1 make do gap gap you source meteor 1 shift us destination" and i think one of the last/the last transmission is going to be "you at meteor 0 destroy do gap gap you at meteor 1 make do gap gap you source meteor 1 shift us destination"
telling you to rip apart the meteor that has been sending the transmissions the whole game to get the pieces to build your own to send back to them
