@turblescelbor.bsky.social i do have a physical drive, i just didnt have a cd for it until a couple minutes ago, and now its not showing up for some reason
@turblescelbor.bsky.social others have done it through virtual machines and it supposedly works, but I don't know how to use a virtual machine and it's also so much funnier to use actual hardware
I had an idea of maybe replacing it's vmlinuz with a hopefully working one of the same version, but I cannot burn Hannah Montana linux directly to a flash drive or the installer doesn't boot at all, I can only make it boot through ventoy
there is also of course the possibility that it just REQUIRES a cd in order to actually install,problem with that is that I don't have one on hand, though I can definitely get one if I wanted
so I've been trying it on my main machine, no more luck (but at least it consistently boots) I'm pretty sure all the issues Im having are actually just the same issue, the installer either just can't find it's fucking kernel for some reason. or its straight up corrupt. the thing about it being corrupt is I literally don't have a way to know because strangely enough the guy who made Hannah Montana linux back in 2009 didn't provide anything for me to check
test machine isnt working at all, i dont really know why??? sometimes the installer freezes sometimes after i hit the "install hannah montana linux" button it waits for like 30 seconds and then says "bootloader: /casper/vmlinuz" which is real informative, and if i leave the graphical boot menu it complains about a missing or corrupt kernel image, which, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW IF ITS CORRUPT OR NOT ;-;
